The first National Economic Council (NEC) meeting of the year has taken place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting which was chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, took place on Thursday had in attendance the Governors of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, Plateau State, Simon Lalong and Benue State, Samuel Ortom
Others were the Governor of Sokoto State Aminu Tambuwal , Ondo State- Rotimi Akeredolu, Ekiti State- Kayode Fayemi, and the Governor of Osun State – Gboyega Oyetola.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun State counterpart, Dapo Abiodun, were absent but were represented by their deputies.
