Ambode wins LGA for Sanwo-Olu, APC takes first five LGAs announced in Lagos

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has won his Epe Local Government Area for the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in the Saturday elections.Dr. Babatunde Adeoye, the Collation Officer in the Local Government, said the APC scored 35,609 votes to defeat its closest rival, the Peoples Democratic Party, which polled 6,464.Presenting the result at the state collation centre situated at the INEC office in Yaba, Adeoye said results in Polling Unit 7 of Ward 9 were cancelled because due to over voting.According to him, the council has registered voters of 138,977, accredited voters of 43,303, with total valid vote of 42,562 and votes rejected of 684, thereby leaving a total vote cast at 43,246.NAN reports that Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, Ikeja and Ikorodu Local Government areas have also presented their results with APC leading in all.In Lagos Mainland LGA, APC polled 27,333, while PDP scored 7,265; in Lagos Island LGA, APC polled 31,991 with the PDP scoring 4,346; in Ikeja LGA, APC polled 28,592 and PDP scored 8,109; while in Ikorodu LGA, APC polled 45,879 and PDP got 14,769.The collation exercise, which started at exactly 10:15am, was still ongoing as at the time of this reports.
