(NC) Smart technology is about so much more than convenience or novelty. It lets you interact with your home in ways you never could otherwise, freeing you to focus on what really matters to you. Make your smart home truly work for you with these easy, impactful upgrades.

Smarter planning. Whether you’re working late at the office or on vacation, it’s always helpful to know what’s going on at home and have some control over it. For example, you can use Amazon Alexa to turn on your driveway lights if get darks before you’re home from work. Or take advantage of your smart fridge to find out if you’ll need to pick up eggs and milk on your way home from the airport after a trip.

Smarter feeding. Our pets are creatures of habit, even when our lives take us off schedule. With a smart feeder, you can set feeding times and portions from your smartphone to make sure dinner is always on time. An app can keep track of feeding history and portions, and you can remotely serve supper at any time from the app.

Smarter driving. Why limit smart living to the confines of home? Take your savvy on the road for your day-to-day, or even just exploring. When you drive a Cadillac XT4, there are many features to make your trip smoother and ride more enjoyable. Warm your car up on a chilly winter day before you head outside by starting it with Amazon Alexa or through the vehicle’s app. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow you to use some of your device’s apps in your vehicle, including maps, messages, music and your phone. No need to stop and ask directions, just speak it out loud and hear a new route to your destination as you enjoy the drive.
