Former Vice President of China Development Bank Faces Bribery Charges

Zhou Qingyu, a former vice president of the China Development Bank, has been formally charged with bribery, as announced by the Supreme People’s Procuratorate.

Following extensive investigations by the National Commission of Supervision, the People’s Procuratorate of Changchun City in Jilin Province, northeast China, has submitted Mr. Zhou’s case to the city’s intermediate people’s court.

Prosecutors allege that Zhou took advantage of his positions both during his tenure and after leaving office to benefit others in areas such as loans and project contracting. Additionally, he stands accused of accepting substantial sums of money and valuables in connection with business operations.

The defendant has been duly informed of his legal rights, undergone interrogation, and presented with the opportunity to address the accusations through his defense counsel.
