Angry protesters in Plateau State have burnt the palace of Saf Adanchin, the District Head of Bokkos, in Bokkos local government area of the State over alleged indiscriminate arrests in the area by security agents.
In the last few days, security agents arrested many people in Plateau after the Christmas Eve killing of above 200 people in 15 communities of Barkin-Ladi and Bokkos Local Government Areas by criminals.
The protesters also invaded the base of the Joint Security Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, and the Divisional Police Headquarters in the area to voice out their displeasure over the arrests.
The protesters overpowered the security agents at the District Head’s palace and burnt the building and vehicles parked inside the premises.
