The ultimate goal for the winner of that fight is a shot at the undisputed championship, which will be decided on February 17 when Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk meet in Saudi Arabia, with the aim of unifying the heavyweight division.
Wilder, the former WBC champion from 2015-2020, has seen limited activity since losing his title to Fury in 2020. The recent defeat raises questions about his readiness to face top-tier opponents.
