Canadians who want to flee Gaza might soon be able to cross into Egypt after a new list containing names of Canadians was published by the General Authority for Crossings and Borders in Gaza.
The document, which contains lists of “foreign passports”, allows Canadians in Gaza to cross into Egypt via the Rafah land border.
Two women in Canada who tried to help relatives leave the Gaza Strip revealed that they received information from Global Affairs that Canadians would start leaving through the Rafah crossing today.
Meanwhile, the department in its latest update said it had been told last week by an arm of the Israeli military that over 400 Canadians would be able to cross “in the coming days.”
The Rafah crossing was closed last weekend but reopened on Monday to allow foreign nationals whose names were on a preapproved list to depart.
