Prior to assuming his current role, Alex Okosi held the distinguished position of Managing Director for YouTube in EMEA Emerging Markets. In this new capacity, Okosi assumes a pivotal role in overseeing Google’s operations across the African continent. This entails spearheading initiatives geared towards fostering business growth, bolstering economic prospects, and facilitating enhanced access to digital tools for the benefit of the next billion web users.
Meir Brand praised Okosi’s leadership prowess and extensive background in the media and technology sectors, underlining his deep-rooted understanding of the diverse African landscape and his fervent commitment to leveraging technology to empower both individuals and businesses.

Before his tenure at YouTube, Okosi served as the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Viacom International Media Networks Africa and BET International. During his tenure at YouTube, Okosi played a pivotal role in orchestrating the platform’s expansion and growth throughout Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey.
