The dangers of diluted Christianity! – by Pastor Amos Dada PhD, P.Eng.

“When King Amaziah returned from slaughtering the Edomites, he brought with him idols taken from the people of Seir. He set them up as his own gods, bowed down in front of them, and offered sacrifices to them! 15 This made the Lord very angry, and he sent a prophet to ask, “Why do you turn to gods who could not even save their own people from you?”16 But the king interrupted him and said, “Since when have I made you the king’s counselor? Be quiet now before I have you killed!” 2 Chr 25:14-16.

We are in a time and age where entertainment, comedy and jesting pokes fun at minsters and derides the church with impunity. This is absurd.

This is a generation that refuses to serve God under any circumstance. They are full of excuses.

People in authority treat God as if God is dead. They treat ministers as nobody. The Bible says touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm. Not this age. They touch the anointed and do them harm.

Whereas there are fake ministers just like you have fake currencies , news and drugs, but fake items does not deny the existence of the original.

The Holy Spirit will like to warn that people who are treating genuine men and women of God with cruelty, disdain or disrespect are doing it to their own destruction.

Let us look at six cases of people and especially kings that treated men of God shabbily, and contempt and what they got in return: Learn:

1. Korah’s case: Korah and his cohorts spoke against Moses’s and the earth opened and swallowed them:”And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD? And it came to pass, as he (Moses) had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them: And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. Number 16:3, 31-32. Sometimes it may not be as dramatic and instantaneous but those who speak against men of God are still dying premature and horrible deaths. Be warned!

2. King Jeroboam’s case: Jeroboam spoke against the young prophet, his hand withered immediately: “And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.”1King 13:4. If you don’t want your business, marriage, hands , to dry up stop poking fun at men of God on the altar!

3. King Asa’s Case : King Asa was corrected by Hanani and he put the Seer in prison . He died of a terrible feet disease . “And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand. Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time. And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians. 1king 16:4,10,12. What do you do with the corrections from the pulpit? Walk out of the church or take corrections? Learn before it is too late!

4. King Ahab’s  Case .King Ahab  put Micaiah the prophet in prison for telling him the truth he boasted he will return from the battle field, he never returned from the battle .1 King 22.

5. King Uzziah’s case:  King Uzziah was a great man. He invented machines, drones. But he had but that made him die of leprosy. Read this: “But when he had become powerful, he also became proud, which led to his downfall. He sinned against the Lord his God by entering the sanctuary of the Lord’s Temple and personally burning incense on the incense altar. 17 Azariah the high priest went in after him with eighty other priests of the Lord, all brave men. 18 They confronted King Uzziah and said, “It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord. That is the work of the priests alone, the descendants of Aaron who are set apart for this work. Get out of the sanctuary, for you have sinned. The Lord God will not honor you for this! 19.Uzziah, who was holding an incense burner, became furious. But as he was standing there raging at the priests before the incense altar in the Lord’s Temple, leprosy[g] suddenly broke out on his forehead. 21. So King Uzziah had leprosy until the day he died. 2Chr 26: 16-21. Eliminate your but. You don’t want to die of leprosy , be careful how you use your power against ministers.

6. King Amaziah’s Case: King Amaziah  as quoted above (2Chr 25: 14-16) worshiped idols and God sent a prophet to warn him. He abused the prophet and sent him away . He was assassinated . “After Amaziah turned away from the Lord, there was a conspiracy against his life in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish. But his enemies sent assassins after him, and they killed him there.” 2Chr 25: 27. Have you given your life to Jesus or still serving idol gods? Repent today . Jesus is the way. Serve him.

Conclusion: When I was young I used to hear a song in Yoruba it says: Ma ma ba mi ja , Baba  ma ma ba mi ja. Meaning: God don’t fight me .

My counsel is don’t provoke God for any reason.  All who provoked God by doing evil or treating God’s ministers badly suffered the consequences. Psalm 1:1 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” You want to be blessed? do the right thing. Stop making mockery or scorning genuine men and women of God !

Shalom.–

O taste and see that the Lord is good.(Psalm 34:8). I have tasted and found that the Lord is good. I do testify that the Lord is good.Join me to taste him.
