Residents seeking a weekend escape will encounter a little relief at the gas pumps in Brampton, Mississauga and Hamilton.

The extremely hot temperatures may have some residents planning a trip to the beach and it seems the drive will be a little cheaper as prices of gas are expected to drop five cents.

On May 31, regular gas was at 164.9 cents but has gone down to 159.9 cents today in Brampton, Mississauga, Hamilton and much of the GTA, according to Gas Wizard.

There are reports that the price will drop further on Friday.

However, those on the lookout for the cheapest prices can discover some lower options in the area.

According to GasBuddy, below are the cheapest gas prices today:

Brampton:

Petro V Plus

153.9 cents

Mississauga: 

Esso
1553 Shawson Dr.
155.9 cents

Hamilton:

Costco
1136 Golf Links Rd., Ancaster
156.5 cents
