Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has said that the Federal Government was working “round the clock” to evacuate Nigerians stranded in war-torn Sudan.
The minister stated this during an interview on Channels Television’s Programme, Sunday Politics.
He disclosed that the Nigerian Embassy in Sudan has been directed to open a platform to register Nigerians in the country.
Onyeama said: “So, we have been working round the clock for the last two days to try and get the Nigerians out.”

His assurance came after Nigerians criticized the government’s poor handling of the evacuation of Nigerians stranded in Sudan.
Onyeama however insisted that the matter is more complex than Nigerians view it.
He said: “Because the airport as you pointed out in your report is out of commission, the only viable way out is by road.”
