The government of Canada has announced a new commitment of C$39 million ($28.9 million) in military assistance for Ukraine.
During a recent meeting of NATO defence officials at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, Canadian Defence Minister, Anita Anand, disclosed the latest round of Canadian aid for Ukraine. The package includes 40 sniper rifles, 16 radio sets, ammunition for the rifles, and a C$34.6 million ($25.7 million) donation to a NATO fund that will help in providing Ukraine with fuel supplies and other assets.
According to a statement from Canada’s Ministry of Defense, the rifles and ammunition will be procured from Prairie Gun Works, a Canadian company, while the radio sets will be supplied by L3Harris Technologies (LHX.N).

Canada has been an ardent supporter of Ukraine since the start of Russia’s invasion last year and has committed billions of dollars in aid, including over C$1 billion ($740 million) in military assistance.
Anand said the newly announced donations and support would ensure that Ukraine has the necessary resources to defend its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
Russia has termed its actions in Ukraine a “special military operation” aimed at tackling what it perceives as a security threat. Canada, however, continues to stand by Ukraine, offering substantial assistance and supporting its efforts to resist Russian aggression.
