Recently, the Head of the Egyptian Tourism Authority, Amr al-Kady, revealed the details behind permitting a Canadian family to come to Egypt and tour its various archaeological sites like the Giza Pyramids.
al-Kady revealed that the invitation came in response to the wish of the family, which includes three children that are threatened with blindness due to an uncommon disease.
During a phone conversation with TV host Youssef al-Husseini on his show “Ninth” on Channel One of state-TV, al-Kady said this is a “humanitarian case, and there is international sympathy with them.”

He said: “Six months ago, we learned of the wish of the Canadian family, which has three children who are threatened with blindness, to visit Egypt and see the Egyptian archaeological sites.
“We contacted the Canadian family and invited them to visit Egypt, and they felt very happy.”
He said an integrated tourism program was implemented in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan for the Canadian family, to their happiness.
