According to reports, Fulani herdsmen have carried out a four-day attack on six communities in the Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State, resulting in the death of over 50 people.
Though Benue State Police have disputed the casualty figures, they have not disclosed any alternative information. The communities affected are Adam, Iyarinwa, Abamde Ityuluv, Waya Boagundu, Agura Ayaga, and Azege areas in Turan Council Ward, Kwande LGA.

While speaking to journalists, Tertsua Yarkbewan, the immediate past Chairman of the Council, confirmed the high number of casualties and voiced out his concern over the persistent invasion and killing of his people by herdsmen.
Also, the attack was confirmed by the police command spokesperson, Catherine Anene, who claimed that the situation has been brought under control and that the casualty figure was below 50.
