In the last 31 days, the Region of Peel has witnessed an average of 10 or more assaults per day.
From Feb. 3 to Mar. 4, Peel police data indicates that there was a combined 336 assaults reported across both cities between February 3 and March 4 — 180 in Brampton and 156 in Mississauga.
Though police have not revealed the type of assault used in each crime, the number of suspects or victims involved and the extent of the injuries.
As of March 4, 241 of these incidents have been successfully solved, 35 are still unsolved while 60 are still being investigated.
