Ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Lagos state, the Labour Party (LP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are planning a merger in a bid to unseat the current APC government.
According to reports, the leaders of the party chapters in Lagos state are seriously considering an alliance, but the major bottleneck is deciding who will step down.

Abdulazeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, is the PDP candidate, while Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour is the Labour Party governorship candidate who defected from the PDP over internal issues.
Both candidates will contest against the incumbent governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who has the support of President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
