An online video has revealed what looks like a fight between hundreds of people celebrating Diwali in Mississauga recently.
The footage was posted on TikTok and it reveals two large groups at a Diwali celebration separated by officers of Peel Regional Police officers as fireworks can be heard in the background.
Dirt from what used to be used fireworks litters the ground where the face-off happened. One group was waving Indian flags, while the other group held banners that support Khalistan referendum movement.
According to Peel Regional Police, officers responded to reports of 400 to 500 people fighting in a Mississauga around 9:40 p.m. on that night.

The fight occurred in a parking lot at Goreway Dr. and Etude Dr. in Malton during Diwali celebrations.
A police spokesperson said the video circulating online is likely of the same incident. The video had been watched over 200,000 times on TikTok as of 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
Police reveal one person was injured during the brawl, a male victim who was attended to by Peel Paramedics. The brawl ended around 10:30 p.m., but police said they stayed back in the area as a precaution.
Goreway Drive was tentatively closed in both directions between Etude Dr. and Morning Star Dr. so that vehicles could be cleared from the area.
A special weather which says high levels of pollution across the area were anticipated because of the large number of fireworks that were expected to be let off as part of the celebrations was issued ahead of Diwali by Environmental Canada for Mississauga and Brampton.
As of 11:00 p.m., Environment Canada rated Brampton’s Air Quality Health Index at “10+” or a “very high risk.”
But Environment Canada removed any mention of Diwali from its air quality warning later in the day.
