Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has married a new wife.
The new wife, Mariam Anako, arrived at the palace recently after performing brief rites at the entrance to the premises.
Upon her arrival, she was led into the inner court of the palace to unite with her husband and other guests waiting to receive her.
In a recent video shared on the Facebook page of Ooni’s spokesperson, Moses Olafare, the king was assisted by High Chiefs and close aides while welcoming the new wife into the palace.
During the wedding ceremony, Anako’s family members from Ebiraland in Kogi State were present and they took turn to greet their in-law.
The new wedding took place about 10 months after Naomi Silekunola, Ooni’s last wife, left him.
Naomi announced separation from Ooni on December 23, 2021, which ended the marriage that produced a son, Tadenikawo, and lasted around 3 years.
