Twitter Inc. has revealed that Canadians will be part of the first to access an edit button the social media platform will start testing this month.
The edit button will first become accessible to Canadian subscribers of Twitter Blue, Twitter’s paid subscription service, later this month.
The feature will allow subscribers to edit their tweets, add or remove tags and reorder attached media within 30 minutes of posting.
Edited tweets will be labelled as modified and subscribers will get access to a history of the changes.
While talking about the development, the company says the feature will reduce the frustration that comes with deleting a tweet or leave a typo on display because there is no current way to edit tweets.
The feature is set to be launched at a time when Canada seeks to regulate social media and pressure is mounting to clamp down on online harassment.
