The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has requested an end to the persistent bloodletting in the South-East.

Kanu said the reports of killings across the South East make him sad.

He expressed his sadness from the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, in Abuja recently while hosting his brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu.

According to Emmanuel, the IPOB leader was “saddened by the reports of killings across the South-East”.

While talking to Vanguard, Emmanuel said: “My brother does not believe in bloodshed and felt too bad that bloodsuckers had been on the prowl in the South-East almost unchallenged.”

The embattled IPOB leader said every individual responsible for the insecurity in South East should be held accountable for their atrocities.

He said Igbos are not known for cannibalism.

Recently, the activities of unknown gunmen in the Southeast have increased.

Some weeks ago, unknown gunmen murdered military officers on their way to Imo State for their marriage rites.

A few days ago, Okechukwu Okoye, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, was beheaded by unknown gunmen.
