Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State and will contest for the presidency on the party’s platform.
A source in the former President’s camp revealed to journalists recently that he has formally joined the APC after he registered for the party membership at his Otuoke Ward in Bayelsa State.

This development came two days after Jonathan distanced himself from efforts by some groups to pull him into the 2023 presidential race.
The source added that Jonathan would submit his completed forms on Thursday.
According to the source, Jonathan had secured the backing of the needed number of APC delegates from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The source added that “several bigwigs of the party have also been calling Jonathan to pledge their loyalty and support to the former president.”
