Former Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe and wife Grace, have secured themselves a good deal, as it has been revealed that the couple will receive $10million and, immunity from prosecution as part of the deal they are terming the “golden goodbye” package.
The 93-year-old, who finally resigned after 37 years in power, reportedly bargained with the military to allow him and wife, race, to retire nicely rather than being exile.
According to a local report, despite being ousted by a military takeover, Mugabe will still be protected by the military as a former head of state and will continue to get the full presidential salary of £112,500 a year until his death.

“Gucci Grace”, Mugabe’s wife, more than 40 years younger than her husband, will continue to receive half of his salary after his death.
“Government will give him a £3.75m lump sum and then the remainder will be paid out in installments.
“Mugabe will also enjoy full medical cover as well as his monthly salary. In the event of his death, his wife will be given half (of his) salary per month.”
“We were told that the President had resigned, but that he was granted full immunity. Mugabe will continue to enjoy protection as a former head of state.”
75-year-old Emmerson Mnangagwa, who has now been sworn in as the president was a long time ally in Mugabe’s ruling Zanu-PF party, and despite promising a better future for the citizen of the country, has many was scared that his reign may be worse.
Mnangagwa, speaking to Zimbabweans advised that they not carry out any type of “vengeful retribution” against the former president and praised the “immense contribution” Mugabe had made to the country.
