Collisions which range from fender benders to highway crashes have occurred in the city which sometimes resulted in serious and life-threatening injuries to drivers and passengers.
That is what motorists and passengers can encounter when plying the road every day. Though some can boast of having a clean driving record, mistakes do occur. One would feel owning up to the accident makes them the bigger person while other people beg to differ.
Many times, it seems drivers choose to run from the situation which was the case in Georgetown, Oakville, Burlington and Milton where police reported 138 hit-and-run occurrences in May.
Halton Regional Police Service data reveals that there were over 100 motor vehicle hit-and-run collisions in the last 31 days

Between May 3 and June 4, there were 138 combined cases across the cities and towns with 83 incidents in Burlington, 44 in Milton and 10 in Georgetown.
Police did not list the circumstances surrounding the crash or details of injuries (if any) sustained by the occupants in this report but they have graphed the number of occurrences each day.
The lowest hit-and-run incident (1) happened on May 17 while June 2 saw the highest number of cases which was 13.
Though motor accidents are inevitable, Halton Regional Police urge drivers to own up to the responsibility and report these accidents at one of their three collision centres.
