Manchester United forward, Mason Greenwood, has been granted bail by a Magistrate Court in Manchester and will be released from custody.
The 21-year-old footballer is facing charges of attempted rape, assault, and using coercive or controlling behaviour toward the same woman.
He was remanded in custody after making an appearance at Manchester Magistrates’ Court earlier this week.

After a closed-door hearing on a bail request recently at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court, a court representative announced that his bail had been granted with the requirements that he refrains from contacting any witness, including the complainant, and maintain residence at a Bowdon address on Bow Green Road.
Throughout the brief hearing, Greenwood was absent.
Greenwood was initially detained in January in connection with claims involving a young woman after images and videos were uploaded online.
He had been out on bail since, but he was recently taken into custody near Trafford for allegedly violating the terms of his release.
Between November 2018 and October 2022, he is alleged to have partaken in controlling and coercive behavior, including accessing and monitoring the complainant’s social media accounts and issuing threatening and disparaging remarks to her.

He must show appear in court on November 21.
Following the allegations, Greenwood was placed on administrative leave by Manchester United, kicked out of FIFA 22, and had his sponsorship agreement with Nike canceled.
A recent statement from the club said: “Manchester United notes that criminal charges have been brought against Mason Greenwood by the Crown Prosecution Service.
“He remains suspended by the club, pending the outcome of the judicial process.”
