Rhythm and Blues star, R. Kelly has filed a lawsuit against United States federal prison officials for leaking some of his private information to a blogger.
The imprisoned musician filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government, a handful of Bureau of Prisons workers, and blogger, Tasha K, all of whom, according to him worked together to publicize his private matters while he was in custody out in Chicago during his trial there.
He claimed that three BOP officials at his prison accessed the internal system that documented what he was doing within the walls, including email correspondence, private calls, visitor logs, and so on.
Kelly and his lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, feel the officials reached an agreement with Tasha K to avail her of Kelly’s personal info, which he suspects might’ve been done for money.
He claimed the information availed to Tasha, who has a big YouTube following, hurt his rep, invaded his privacy and caused him undue emotional distress.
Also, he claimed that the U.S. government was negligent in allowing its prison personnel to access and share this information, as such, he’s asking for major damages.
