As part of their efforts to provide succour for the less privileged and the underserved, Non Governmental Organization, Hope Emerge has provided free medical management for over 300 people.
The NGO’s first annual medical mission which took place on Saturday, 19th of October at Alogomeji – Yaba in Lagos State was focused on complete medical check ups, diagnostic test, vision screening etc.
Fielding questions from our correspondent, Founder and President of the NGO, Vivianne Adelagun said the aim of the exercise was to provide medical care and advice for the less privileged and the underserved.
Vivianne said “the programme is about reaching out to the community, giving back to the community. Trying to help the less privileged and the underserved, providing medical care and advice”.
The Hope Emerge boss succinctly averred that the NGO care for pregnant women, pay for antenatal bills, delivery bills, hospital bills, school fees and the likes.
“We focus on catering for the less privileged and the underserved particularly pregnant women, we pay for their antenatal care as well as their child delivery,” she said.
Vivianne continued that “we empower women who want to do businesses. We pay for students’ school fees, we just want to take people off the street”.
While noting that Hope Emerge is not affiliated with any government parastatal, the president stated that it is a non-profit organization that was created to help the less privileged and the underserved in Nigeria.

Asked on if the NGO is seeking any support from the government, Vivianne said “if the government want to encourage us by supporting us that will be good, we are doing their job for them…but we are looking for individuals who have a heart like me, who want to help but they don’t have the agility to do it”.
Delineating on how the NGO is being sustained, the founder noted that they do fund raising. She however stated that they started with their personal funds.
The founder who noted that she does not intend to achieve any personal gain, said her dream is to see people happy and be able to assist the less privileged. She encouraged the populace not to give up hope, adding that “Hope Emerge is here to provide support”.
Some of the beneficiaries of the outreach who fielded questions from our correspondent, expressed joy over the initiative, commending the organizers for bringing succour to them.
On the sideline of the medical outreach, the NGO held a fund raising event on Sunday 20th of October at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja.
The NGO gave some individuals humanitarian awards in the event which was dignitary-laden.

Dr Hamed Ninalowo, Dr Fatai Abatan, Dr Wale Sulaimon, Mrs Modupe Adepitan Ayinde, Mrs Bunmi Olubajo.
