The President of Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited (BMCSL), Pastor Oyinmiebi Bribena and his wife, Beatrice, have revaled that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) did not invite them for any interrogation before they were declared wanted by the commission.
In a quick response to some recent reports, Onyinmiebi Biribena filed a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Yenagoa to enforce their fundamental rights, saying they were not invited for questioning before being declared wanted by the anti-graft agency.

In a statement, the Head, Media and Publicity of EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, declared the couple wanted for allegedly swindling Nigerians to the tune of N2 billion.
Before their declaration as wanted people, the President of BMCSL filed an originating summons before the Federal High Court, Yenagoa, against the EFCC.
He sought the determination of some questions regarding the powers of the EFCC to intervene in disputes between members of the cooperative society in line with the provisions of the Nigerian Cooperative Societies Act of 2004.
While reacting to the declaration, Bribena, who pastors a popular church, said: “We did not receive any invitation letter from the EFCC and were not aware of any summons or pending charge against us by the EFCC.”
