Access Holdings Plc has appointed Ms. Bolaji Agbede as the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment is in a quick response to the unexpected death of its former Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Herbert Wigwe.
The appointment was announced by the Board of Directors of Access Holdings Plc. Ms. Agbede, who is the most senior founding Executive Director in charge of Business Support within the organization, will resume office after the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
This transition is a major point in the company’s history as it passes through the challenges of unexpected leadership change.
Agbede has an impressive professional background that spans around three decades. Her career trajectory in banking and business consultancy services has armed her with a rich blend of expertise and strategic acumen.
Her career started in 1992 at Guaranty Trust Bank where she climbed the ranks to managerial positions by 2001. She became the Chief Executive Officer at JKG Limited, a business consulting firm, in 2003.

She joined Access Bank Plc later in 2003 as an Assistant General Manager responsible for managing the bank’s portfolio of chemical trading companies.
Agbede’s leadership qualities and strategic insight made her assume the position of the Bank’s Head, Group Human Resources between 2010 and 2022.
She was later promoted to the role of Access Holdings Plc’s founding Executive Director, Business Support, where she played a major role in the successful integration of business units and the transformation of the culture of the company.
Her appointment will be viewed as a strategic step to ensure stability and continuity in the leadership of the organization. With her experience and leadership style, she is expected to guide Access Holdings Plc through this transition period.
