The Premier of Quebec, François Legault has said the province will introduce a vaccine passport system to forestall the ongoing fourth wave of COVID-19 infections.
The Premier said vaccinated people would need the document to access non-essential services like gyms and restaurants.

He added that the measure would “allow people who made the effort to be vaccinated to return to a normal life.”
While warning that infections are expected to rise in Quebec in the coming weeks, Legault said the system would help authorities prevent widespread lockdowns in the province.
