Many businesses in Ontario are waiting for an announcement of stage 3 reopening plan by the provincial government.
With current data indicating a slow and steady drop in Ontario’s COVID-19 cases, Premier Doug Ford is expected to announce the next phase of the province’s reopening plan.
In a document released in April, the province said Stage 3 would include “opening all workplaces responsibly” and “further relaxing the restrictions on public gatherings.”
The document didn’t reveal the details but it said restrictions would still be enforced on large gatherings like concerts and sporting events.
Meanwhile, Quebec health officials are worried about an increase in COVID-19 cases in Montreal which is induced by the reopening of the city’s bars.
Montreal’s public health authority has urged patrons and employees who have visted bars since Canada Day to get tested for the pandemic.
The province will introduce compulsory masks on public transit with two weeks grace period pending users denial of service.
Also, Montreal has revealed that it plans to bring in mandatory masks for public spaces that are enclosed.
