Italy has banned travellers from 13 countries that are classified as high risk Coronavirus countries from entering the country over the COVID-19 pandemic.
The countries banned are Armenia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Brazil, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Kuwait, North Macedonia, Moldova, Oman, Panama and Peru.
According to a statement issued by Health Minister of Italy, Roberto Speranza, the ban affects anyone that has stayed in or travelled through the banned countries in the last 14 days.
The Health Ministry agreed with the Foreign, Interior and Transport Ministries to sign the decree banning visitors from entering Italy as the country recovers from the pandemic that has killed avout 35,000 people in Italy.
Roberto Speranza said: “Throughout the world, the pandemic has entered a more acute phase.
“We cannot throw away the sacrifices made by Italians in recent months.”
