Cristiano Ronaldo: Is The End In Sight?

Manchester United may decide to send Cristiano Ronaldo Carabao Cup winners’ medal, after their 2-0 win over Newcastle recently.

Manchester United claimed the first piece trophy of the season by defeating Newcastle at Wembley.

First-half goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford sealed the club’s first trophy under Coach Erik ten Hag.

Erik Ten Hag has made an immediate impact in Manchester after his summer move from Ajax. The way he handled Ronaldo’s issue caused controversy before his sudden departure last year. Ten Hag marginalized Ronaldo and restricted him to a squad role.

Though Ronaldo did not play in any of the six matches United played throughout the competition, he could still be eligible for a medal, if United want to hand him one. The five-time Balon d’Or winner who now plays at Al-Nassr won the competition twice during his first spell in Manchester.

A third medal could yet be added with the EFL rule 20.2 on the awarding of medals which stated: “In addition to the Cup, the Management Committee shall present thirty souvenirs to the winning Club in the Final Tie; and thirty souvenirs to the losing Club in the Final Tie. Additional souvenirs may be presented with the consent of the Management Committee but shall be at the cost of the requesting Club.”
