Pastor Sunday Adebamiro pastors a Canadian church and he is a key member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Recently, with the help of God and the government of Canada, he launched Tinubu Food Bank Canada in Canada and replicated the Food Bank in Nigeria.
Nigerian Canadian News caught up with him recently and he talked about what Tinubu Food Bank Canada is all about, how long it took him to get NGO registered, the launch in Nigeria and his plans to replicate the project in every state in Nigeria.
Check out the interview below:
NC News: What is Tinubu Food Bank Canada all about?

Pastor Adebamiro: Tinubu Food Bank Canada is an initiative of the International Support Group of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Canada. The initiative aims to support Tinubu’s Food policy with the primary objective of providing food for the less privileged and also to bridge the widening gap between the rich and the poor.
NC News: What motivated you to venture into the project?
Pastor Adebamiro: This project was envisioned to boost the massive effort of millions of citizens and political associates as well as groups who believe in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the human angel destined to restore the glory of our great nation, Nigeria, at this perilous political dispensation. And also, our seniors, our aged villagers have been neglected for a very long time and I felt in this part of the world, they have been forgotten. As such, there is a need for us to get them some free lunch at least to be able to motivate them and give them hope that we care for them.
Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic which has spread rapidly and extensively around the world since late 2019 has affected food distribution globally. So, there is a need for the introduction of Feed the People program as a poverty alleviation scheme to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic that has plunged the entire world into recession.

NC News: How long did it take you to actualize the project?
Pastor Adebamiro: By the grace of God, it took me some months because I needed to sit down with some of my partners in Canada, especially those who are members of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Support Group. I was able to meet with our dear brother, Mr Ilupeju and his wife, a white Canadian. We were able to sit down and planned this with other guys that joined us. To the glory of God, we also had the privilege of getting it registered. The government of Canada did us a great favour by registering it as an NGO. So we were able to put this together in six months.
After the registration, I came back to Nigeria so I can extend it to the country of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and I decided to donate a tower building as our Head Office in Nigeria where we can strategically reach out to other states in Nigeria from Igan, Ijebu East in Ogun State.
NC News: The launch was attended by a lot of dignitaries. Can you name them and tell us how excited they were about the Food Bank project?
Pastor Adebamiro: The launch was well attended. By the grace of God, a lot of dignitaries attended the launch of Tinubu Food Bank Canada. We had Senator Lekan Mustapha, representing Ogun East Senatorial District as our Chief Launcher. The launch was also graced by the presence of Segun Osibote, our Party Leader in Ijebu East. Furthermore, Honourable Wale Adelana, a very close friend of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was in attendance. High Chief Dr Mustapha Abdulkarim, who was our Chairman on that day, was present. I will not forget to mention Joseph Osikomaya, the President of Igan Youth Circle and the entire Igan Youth Circle Club members.

Our Royal Father, His Royal Highness, Oba Michael Adesina, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, was also present at the launch.
NC News: The project has started in Ogun State. Are there plans to replicate the project in other states?
Pastor Adebamiro: Tinubu Food Bank is an NGO registered in Canada and it has been extended to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s country. We are blessed with a Tower Building that enables us to reach out strategically to Ijebu East community in Igan, Ogun State, Nigeria for a start. We have plans in place to spread across other states in Nigeria.
NC News: Who will benefit from the project?
Pastor Adebamiro: The people that will benefit from our free lunch at Tinubu Food Bank Canada are the less privileged, the widows, the orphans, people who are in distress and can not afford to provide food for themselves and their children, the aged and the destitute.
NC News: Will people still be able to benefit from the project after the election?
Pastor Adebamiro: By the grace of God, people will benefit largely from this project even after the election because Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man of his word. During his campaign, he said he would make agbado, cassava, gari and so on available as far as his food policy is concerned. We believe God that His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will create a Ministry for this in Nigeria as part of his humanitarian efforts whereby we will be able to have this operation Igan feed the People across the state.
So this is going to be in line with the programme of the government such that the government will be able to carry Nigerians along after the election and even after Asiwaju’s regime. We believe Asiwaju’s successor will continue with this because feeding is essential, as such, it should not be limited to a political party or a candidate. So we believe the next generation will ensure it continues.
