Barbara Walters, trailblazing television, has died. She died recently at the age of 93.
She was a broadcaster and longtime ABC News anchor and correspondent that broke the barrier to become a dominant force in an industry that used to be dominated by men.

In 1976, Walters joined ABC News and became the first female to anchor an evening news program.
In 1979, she became a co-host of “20/20,” and launched “The View” in 1997.
She made her final appearance as a co-host of “The View” in 2014 but she remained an executive producer of the show.
Walters won 12 Emmy awards in a career that spanned five decades.
May her soul rest in peace.
