Damarea Ogbuewu, a 16-year-old Nigerian-American actress has been assigned to take a lead role in the remake of the famous international movie, Karate Kid.
According to a source, Damarea was picked to feature in the lead role after actor Jaden Smith, who played the role of Dre Parker in the 2010 version of the Chinese movie, failed to retake his role due to his father’s controversial act at the 2022 Oscars Award ceremony.
All things being equal, Damarea will star as Jade Reed in the Karate Kid remake.
Also, Chinese movie legend, Jackie Chan, who acted as Jaden Smith’s trainer in the most recent version of the movie revealed in a tweet he later deleted that the production of the 2021 version of Karate Kid has started.
The sixth installment of the Karate Kid movie will be released in November 2022.
