Edmonton’s election for City and School Board officials will take place this fall – Monday, October 16, 2017 – and the Edmonton.ca website now has everything you need to know if you’re considering running for Mayor, City Councillor
or School Board Trustee.

The 2017 Edmonton Election includes races for Mayor, City Councillors, Edmonton Catholic School District Trustees and Edmonton Public School District Trustees. Those elected will serve a four-year term.
Key Points for Candidates
· Nominations papers must be filed on Nomination Day, Monday September 18, 2017, at City Hall. The official candidate list will be posted on the Edmonton Elections website following Nomination Day.
· Candidates must obtain a minimum number of signatures in support of their nomination and pay a deposit fee. Visit the Elections website for specific information.
· All candidates are responsible for understanding the legislation and bylaws concerning elections, and campaigning restrictions.
