British Columbia’s Integrated Homicide Team (IHIT) has announced that the husband of a woman that was stabbed to death in Abbotsford, B.C., has been charged with homicide.
The incident happened recently when Abbotsford police responded to a call of an assault that was taking place at Wagner Drive.
When policemen arrived, they saw 41-year-old Balwinder Kaur, of Abbotsford, inside the house with life-threatening stab wounds. She died in hospital shortly after.
According to the police, a man who “was known to the victim” was arrested at the scene.

Jagpreet Singh, Balwinder Kaur’s husband, has been charged with second-degree homicide.
While talking about the incident, Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT said: “This was an isolated incident.
“IHIT will continue to work with AbbyPD over the coming days, not only to advance this investigation, but to support the community affected by this tragedy.”
Police said no further details will be released as the case is now in court.
