Police sources confirmed on saturday, twenty ninth july that 3 gunmen who laid seige on the house of the country’s deputy president William Ruto Sugoi have been killed, whereas a policeman additionally lost his life when engaging the gunmen for hours.
Police sources said the fourth suspect was shot and fatally wounded.
The four gunmen ambushed the house shortly when Ruto left for a rally in Kitale. GSU guards and employees were the only ones at the residence at the time and a number of other employees were trapped within the home.
Witnesses said the gunmen were Somali which that they had pretended to be selling sheets.
They said the attackers burned the guard’s house after entering the compound.
A GSU officer guarding the gate was shot and wounded and his gun snatched before fighting began.

Gunshots could still be heard at the house, where it had been established the attackers gained access to the armoury.
About eight recce Squad officers entered the house in a bid to contain the case.

MPs award Sudi (Kapseret), alfred Keter (Nandi Hills) and a number of other aspirants were among people waiting near the house.
