Ugandan chef, Dorcus Mirembe, has become the third person to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Cooking Marathon in 2023.
Mirembe, popularly known as Mama D, broke the record set by the Irish chef, Alan Fisher, in November.
Fisher cooked for nearly 120 hours.
Mama D has cooked for over 124 hours and counting. Meanwhile, she plans to cook till the new year. If that happens, she would have cooked non-stop for 9 days.
Recall that Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, cooked for 93 hours, 11 minutes in May before Alan Fisher dethroned her to become the record holder in November.
While Mama D, the Uganda chef, has broken Fisher’s record, her status as the Longest Cooking Marathon record holder will not be formal till she is certified by the Guinness World Record.
