Nigeria’s popular cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has been sentenced to six months in jail with no option of a fine.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro of a Federal High Court in Lagos delivered the judgement recently.
The judge delivered the verdict after Bobrisky had pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of Naira abuse levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bobrisky’s trouble began after he sprayed money at the premiere of Ajakaju, a long awaited film by actress and producer Eniola Ajao, at Film One Circle Mall, in Lekki.
Videos of the event were circulated widely on social media and this may have pressured the authorities to swing into action.
