How Poor Parenting Is Leading Children Into Depression, Teenager, Joyce Gibson Writes Heartfelt Message To Parents

Parenting is the act of taking responsibility of a child under one’s care; the child might be biological or adopted. Parenting goes deeper than just provision of material things for children or sponsoring kids through their academics. When parents begin to neglect other aspects of their children where attention is needed then there comes depression.

Depression is a state of mind where a person begins to lose interest in things he once found enthusiasm. Research shows that 70% of kids suffer depression from ages 6 down to their youthful age. This shows that there’s something wrong with the home background. When the emotional aspect of kids are ignored they become weak and exposed to fragility hence spend their whole life struggling with depression.

The sole aim of parenting is to raise a child to become successful, strong, achieve their dreams and be of good morals but that purpose is defeated once depression kicks in. It starts slowly and this might be from the harsh and uncultured words used on children, depriving them of little things which are important, comparing them to other kids, trying to impose your dreams and will on them. Then gradually they begin to lose interest in things, stay away from people, become unusually calm and so many changes in their attitude yet  parents still fail to notice this because they are too busy trying to fend for the family and meet daily needs. Slowly and slowly the child dies inside, becomes emotionless, filled with hate, thinks of suicide, his heart has become cold and dark. He spends his day smiling and laughing like there’s no issue but can’t even sleep at night, he cries and wonders why his parents would hurt him this much. Nobody sees his pain, nobody sees his problem yet he is judged and criticized and his dreams are seen as useless. He gets even more depressed and finally takes his life and nobody knows why but he did so to stop the pains because his peace has been taken away.

Parenting is a big responsibility and anyone not ready to take it should back off. There’s more to raising a child than providing physical needs; show them you care about them, always ask about their personal activities, pay attention to their emotions and health, listen to them because even in their dumbest behavior they might want to pass a message to you but you just don’t see it.

Dear parents and guardians, be very cautious not to plunge your kids to live in depression, anxiety or hate. Be mindful of what you say or do to them so you won’t have to kill them thinking you are building them. Play your parenting role well and save a soul from depression.
