Wilfried Ndidi has charged his Leicester City teammates not to relent in their fight to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League. After playing draw with Brighton and Hove Albion last Tuesday, Leicester City remain third on the Premier League log.
Ndidi and his teammates resumed league action after three months coronavirus induced break by playing against Watford last weekend. Ben Chilwell’s last minute goal helped them earn a 1-1 draw at Watford’s stadium.
Leicester City have seven matches to play in the Premier League this season and Ndidi is still hopeful his club can still retain their spot in the top-four and return to Europe next season.
While talking to Football Daily, Ndidi said: “It will be a plus to us as players, in our careers, if we can play in the Champions League. But it is something we have to work for.
“It is not about what we have done in past matches. These eight games remaining, it is important for us to actually fight hard and pick the Champions League ticket.
“It is something we have to work for, we have to stay there. If we do our best and get the points, then we will get there.”
