PDP, APC May Not Be Included On The Ballot – Rivers ADP Guber Candidate

The governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Rivers state, Mr Victor Fingesi has said that the major political parties in the state, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) may not be on the ballot papers for the March 9 governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections in the state.

The governorship hopeful made the assertion in Port Harcourt, the state capital on Thursday while speaking to newsmen shortly after a sanitation sensitization exercise along Creek Road Market in Port Harcourt as part of his campaign for the governorship election.

“The next governorship election in the state may be peaceful and I’ll tell you why it would be peaceful. There will not be much to fight for because the two big parties as we call them may not be at war with one another.

“For now, one of them is not on the ballot. I believe and it’s possible that both of them might not be on the ballot and when that happens you’ll see that we’ll have a peaceful election because people will be looking for a credible one to support.”

Asked to expatiate more, he said, “Well, there are court cases left, right and centre. We did not initiate those court cases and I think that anything that goes to court must come out with a ruling.

And we’re expecting that there will be rulings in all the cases that are in court between now and the election because they’re pre-election matters that must be dealt with before the election,” He further added that, “so, I think that give or take, it could go both ways.

Some might even be disqualified and some might be asked to continue or all would even be disqualified and none would be asked to continue.

But I’m saying that from the indications the big ones might not be on the ballot.” For that reason, he said the chances of his party winning the governorship slot in the state looks even brighter because, according to him, his party, the ADP has gone round the state during their electioneering campaigns and has also interacted with the people throughout the state.

On the sanitation sensitization campaign, he said he was sensitizing the people on his campaign promise that if given the mandate on March 9, that he would return back the garden city status of the state capital.
