Multi-award winning Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has celebrated fast-rising junior colleague, Bimbo Ademoye, after she broke her AMVCA records.
While celebrating her, Funke Akindele posted a photo of Bimbo Ademoye on her Instagram story with the caption, celebrating Bimbo’s win at the 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
She wrote: “Congrats dear. @bimboademoye”
Funke Akindele’s message came after Bimbo Ademoye broke her five years of AMVCA records of best actress in a comedy/tv series.
Ademoye was announced as the winner of the category, beating Funke Akindele, Mercy Johnson, Bisola Aiyeola and others.
The award came as no surprise to Bimbo’s fans as many were expecting her to win at the awards ceremony.
While sharing the news on Twitter, the organizers of the event stated that they were thrilled to announce the fast-rising actress as the winner.
They tweeted “We’re thrilled to announce that the #AMVCA9 ‘Best Actress in a Comedy/TV Series’ award goes to the talented [@BimboAdemoye Selina]!
We celebrate her comedic talent and unforgettable performances. Congratulations!”
