No fewer than eight people including the gunman died in a recent mass shooting at an Outlet Mall in Dallas, Texas, United States, while seven others were severely injured, officials have confirmed.
While addressing the press after the shooting, the Allen, Texas, Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd, said no fewer than nine people were sent to hospitals while only two were treated for trauma.
Boyd said: “Of those we transported, two have since died. Three are in critical surgery, and four are stable. The victims’ ages range from 5 to 51.”
In a statement, police said the assailant, whom officials believe acted alone, was fatally shot by a police officer after he started firing outside of the Allen Premium Outlets mall in Allen, a suburb north of Dallas in the state of Texas.

At a press conference, the city’s police chief, Brain Harvey, said: “One of our officers was on an unrelated call at the outlet mall. He heard gunshots, went to the gunshots, engaged the suspect and neutralized the suspect.”
The Texas mass shooting is the recent in a relentless series of gun violence which target schools, churches, shopping malls and residential areas across the United States.
According to Gun Violence Archive, it is the 199th mass shootings this year in the US with no fewer than four people shot.
