Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the Nigerian Senate have given President Muhammadu Buhari a six-week ultimatum to tackle the worsening state of security across Nigeria or face impeachment.
The Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Phillip Aduda, announced the position of the lawmakers recently while talking to reporters at the National Assembly in Abuja.
The PDP Senators staged a walkout after the Senate President refused to allow Aduda speak after he raised a point of order requesting the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, to discuss the country’s security situation and the impeachment of President Buhari.

However, Senate President who presided over the plenary did not approve the request of the minority leader, saying the point of order put forward fell flat on its face.
The PDP Senators were very angry at the action of the Senate President and took turns to walk out of the legislative chamber while the plenary was still on.
