Aishatu Binani, the current Senator representing Adamawa Central, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Adamawa state.

Binani was the only female aspirant at the primary and she defeated Nuhu Ribadu, former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and Jibrilla Bindow, former governor of Adamawa State to win the primary election.
Binani garnered 430 votes to defeat Bindow who had 103 votes and Ribadu, who polled 288 votes.

She will contest against Ahmadu Fintiri, the incumbent governor of the state, in the 2023 gubernatorial election.
