India summons Canadian envoy over Trudeau’s comments on farmers protest

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has revealed that Canadians are frustrated by the slow pace at which provinces are vaccinating people against the coronavirus, as such, the government will help speed up the pace of inoculations.

Though Ottawa has bought 500 thousand doses of vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna and still expects one million doses by the end of this month, each province is responsible for administering the doses.

As complaints about how few people have really been injected rises, Trudeau disclosed it was necessary that the campaign be carried out as soon as possible.

While talking to reporters, Trudeau said: “All Canadians, including me, are frustrated to see vaccines in freezers and not in people’s arms.

“That’s why we’re going to continue working closely with the provinces … to support them as they need it in terms of getting more vaccines out to vulnerable populations and front line workers as quickly as possible.”

Trudeau also said that Canada would have enough doses to provide vaccine to everyone who wanted an inoculation by September 2020.
