The Government of India has said that comments made by the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, some members of his Cabinet and Members of Parliament on issues related to Indian farmers are totally unacceptable and amount to interference in the internal affairs of India.
The Ministry of External Affairs summoned Canadian High Commissioner and was told that if such actions continued, it would have a serious effect on ties between both countries.
The High Commissioner was made to know that comments like these have triggered the gatherings of extremist activities in front of Indian High Commission and Consulates in Canada.
The government also said it expects the Canadian Government to provide topmost security to the Indian diplomatic personnel and prohibit Political leaders of Canada from making comments that promote extremist activism.
